The Society of Industrial Designers of Australia was established in 1947 in Melbourne. The original group included design visionaries and leaders Fred Ward, Ron Rosenfeldt, R. Haughton James, Max Forbes, Grant Featherston, Victor Greenhalgh, Scorgie Anderson, Selwyn Coffey, Charles Furey and Frances Burke. This Society would eventually become the Design Institute of Australia.
With the global celebration, World Industrial Design Day almost here, we invite you to an exclusive networking event for design professionals, graduates and students alike practising industrial design. Engage with other designers from large to small practices and everything in between, reflect on the work and the future impacts on industrial design - or just come to share a bevie with your peers. Autodesk will join us, showcasing some of their latest offerings.
Following the Society of Industrial Designers of Australia footsteps, we are relaunching the VIC/TAS Industrial Design Practice Group and strongly encourage anyone interested in joining this group to attend.
